En agosto de 2018, Magda Tagtachian recibió la distinción Hrant Dink. El galardón es entregado anualmente por el Consejo Nacional Armenio de Sudamérica a periodistas por su compromiso en derechos humanos y la causa armenia.
Osvaldo Bayer, Marcelo Zlotogwiazda, Pepe Eliaschev, Reynaldo Sietecase, Román Lejtman y María O’Donnell entre otros colegas, también obtuvieron el nombramiento.
Hrant Dink fue un ciudadano turco de origen armenio, asesinado en Estambul. Dirigía la publicación Agós, el periódico que denunciaba la amenaza permanente que viven las minorías en Turquía y la política estatal de negacionismo del Genocidio Armenio. El 19 de enero de 2007, Dink fue acribillado cuando salía del Diario.
“Este galardón renueva cada día mi compromiso con la causa armenia. Por el futuro de todos y por la memoria de nuestros abuelos, debemos seguir trabajando”, expresó Magda Tagtachian al recibir la nominación.
Hrant Dink distinction: emotion and commitment
In August 2018, Magda Tagtachian received the Hrant Dink distinction. The award is presented annually by the Armenian National Council of South America to journalists for their commitment to human rights and the Armenian cause. Osvaldo Bayer, Marcelo Zlotogwiazda, Pepe Eliaschev, Reynaldo Sietecase, Román Lejtman and María O’Donnell among other colleagues also obtained the appointment.
Hrant Dink was a Turkish citizen of Armenian origin, killed in Istanbul. He directed the publication Agós, the newspaper that denounced the permanent threat experienced by minorities in Turkey and the state policy of denial of the Armenian Genocide. On January 19, 2007, Dink was shot when he left the newspaper. “This award renews my commitment to the Armenian cause every day. For the future of all and for the memory of our grandparents, we must continue working”, said Magda Tagtachian upon receiving the nomination.
